Equipment
Ingredients
75 grams of coffee. (Medium-coarse grind / suitable for French Press).
1 litre water
Cold Brew Coffee Maker (optional)
Instructions
1
1. Grind coffee
A medium to coarse grind is best. Of course, you can also use already ground coffee.
2
2. Put the ground coffee into the filter
Use 75 grams of coffee to one litre of water. Of course, you can adjust the amount of coffee to your personal preference. Above all, you can vary the caffeine content.
3
3. Pour 1 litre of lukewarm water into the coffee pot.
The water quality is very important for the subsequent taste. Therefore, you should use a water filter* depending on the water hardness.
4
4. Put the Cold Brew in the fridge for at least 12 hours.
The finer the coffee is ground, the less time it takes. However, you can find many different times on the internet. 12 hours is considered the minimum. Sometimes 18 - 24 hours is also mentioned. Starbucks, for example, lets its cold brew coffee steep for 20 hours.
So you should experiment a little until you find your personal sweet spot.
5
5. Remove the filter and serve the cold brew with ice.
As the cold brew coffee is quite strong, dilute it with water, milk or milk alternatives such as almond milk or soy milk as desired.
